Ÿ An Introduction to the Mystical Qabalah
Aquarian Press 1974.
3 editions and 7 languages. Republished in 1995 by Llewellyns as Magical Gateways
It has never been out of print. Juvenile. Aquarian
Press 1984 A
visionary, prophetic, shallow, and completely out-of-date analysis of the
Arthurian and Celtic Traditions. Aquarian
Press 1985 Containing
the Magical Diaries of Christine Campbell Thompson and Charles Seymour for
the years 1937-39, who were high-grade Adepts with the Order of the Golden
Dawn. A decent book, but since republished by Llewellyns as 20th Century Magic, and with a cover as ridiculous as the new title. Ÿ Priestess: The Life and Magic of Dion Fortune Aquarian
Press 1986. The first full biography of the
magician ‘Dion Fortune’ (1890-1946)
who was Womanhood’s answer to Aleister Crowley, and who has become
something of a major cult figure in the years since her death. A new
edition was published by Harper/Collins as The
Magical Life of Dion Fortune, in 1988. Translated into German. Cost me
more to research than I ever earned. Not a bad book though overwritten in
places.
Ÿ Ancient Magick
with Geoff Hughes Llewellyns.
1988. The
less said about this one the better, I think... An even worse cover and
title than 20th Century Magic Ÿ Earth God Rising: The Return of the Male Mysteries An
analysis of the Horned God through history, and his relevance today.
Rushed into print with a million errors, none of them my fault, plus a
ridiculous ‘How-to’ section that was forced upon me. Wish I could do
it again. Arcania
1992 with the late, great Billie Walker-John. Egypt as a strata of
consciousness within the psyche, rather than a geo-political location. A
manual of self-initiation into the Egyptian Mysteries. Rated by many
critics as one of the best - and most unusual - books on Ancient Egypt
ever written. The
good parts are all down to Billie. Capal
Bann. 1995 with David Annwn. Similar
to the above, but based on an inner contact with a heavily-pregnant and
heavily tattooed priestess figure from the late Bronze Age. Jonesy (aka
Annwn) was always embarrassed by this, though he’d never tell me. Virgin
Publications - January 2001 Written
with the co-operation of numerous mystics and magicians of all
persuasions, all of whom have shared their visions of the ancient sites
with me. Foreword and contributions by Uri Geller. A good book, but sold
less than any of the above. OOP in record time. As
Yet Unpublished Novels The Giftie. About the
Highlander Robert Kirk, who disappeared into the Scottish Otherworld in
1691, and who was accidentally summoned back into out present day, by a
young American woman, living quite unhappily in this country. Black
comedy. Lots of sex. Read it and weep. The
Movie Star About an
American Movie Star who, in the mid-1930’s becomes virtually a prisoner
in a remote Dorsetshire valley where they’ve never heard of him, think
he’s mad, and probably from Taunton. Summary included. Film script
following. Shimmying Hips. About the
England football team which trounced the Germans before the Fuhrer in
1937, as told by the mistress of one of the players. As Yet Unproduced Film Scripts
- with Mark Colmar The Enchanter. A strictly modern
version of the Merlin myth, set today, which we see as a vehicle for
Robbie Coltrane. Boudicca. Womanhood’s answer to Braveheart. Boudicca as an Essex
Girl - but the very exaltation of Essex Girls. The
Giftie. As above. | ||||||||
